Some of you may recall the days when we named servers. At least in our circle, IFX was short for “infrastructure”.
Vegas at 8th Street between Carson and Fremont! The physical address for where the magic happens is: 801 Fremont Street, 899 Fremont Street, 115 S 8th Street, 131 S 8th Street, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89101.
On Dec. 4, 2019, at 9 a.m. sharp! Operational hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, Dec. 4-5.
They do. AWS re:invent is scheduled for Mon, Dec 2, 2019 – Sat, Dec 7, 2019, just a few miles away on the Strip.
Heck the heck yeah! In fact that’s the point. We’re the first to admit AWS re:invent has plenty to offer – fantastic programming, impressive headliners, 60,000-plus people showing up, and all the glitz, glitter, and high-wattage appeal the Las Vegas Strip has to offer. But for those who want a little breathing room from the madding crowds, yet who still crave the chance to connect with their fellow gearheads and code squads, IFX is the perfect playground. Our vibe is chill but our mission is yuuuuuuge: To create a fun, safe, cool place to learn from each other, make one-on-one connections, and get our collective groove on.
Street parking near the venue is very limited. However, you can easily scout out parking options in Downtown Las Vegas easier by downloading ParkMe, the city’s parking guide app. The RTC Bike Share program also offers 21 hubs with 200 traditional and electric bikes available for rent throughout the downtown area, with 24-hour and 3-day passes available.
We know technology conferences can be *cough* expensive, but our love for the craft and culture of infrastructure doesn’t cost a thing. We do, however, ask that you register – either beforehand, or at the event. Everyone will be issued badges at the registration help-desk as they enter.
We’ve whittled down the topics to 8 content streams with dedicated curators for each. Attend as many of the scheduled events as you like, go tinker in our Makerspace, or just hang out in our dedicated lounge areas.
Yes! Grab-and-go breakfast items will be available both days, as well as a more substantial lunch menu. Both meals are open to all registered attendees and will include vegetarian, vegan, and heart-healthy options. Sundry snacks, beverages, coffee, and beer will also be available (and delicious!)
Our Masked Ball Dinner is invitation-only, but a closing reception will be open to all. RSVPs, however, are required – including the closing-night BBQ.
